How we get paid
NextDraft is free to join. Clubs may pay NextDraft through an optional Club Pro subscription or a placement commission when they hire through a posting — depending how that club uses NextDraft.
Subscriptions
Hiring stays open without a paywall. Optional plans unlock the full Discover player database (free viewers see 10 results per search).
- Agent Pro — self-serve from upgrade. Unlimited Discover. Does not waive club placement fees.
- Club Pro — enquire for a custom contract priced by club size (size affects price only; any Club Pro is Pro). Unlimited Discover and no placement commission on postings created while subscribed. Enquire.
- Player — An optional player subscription is coming soon. Player profiles, applications, and discoverability stay free.
Placement commission
For hires through NextDraft where commission is due, NextDraft acts as the player’s agent in that opportunity. If the player already has an accepted agent, NextDraft’s commission is reduced to reflect shared representation. When commission is due, the hiring club generally pays Next Draft's commission from the player's first-season salary, and the player is not separately invoiced by Next Draft. In some situations the club cannot pay Next Draft from the player's salary — in those cases Next Draft invoices the player, who pays the commission directly.
If the club has an active Club Pro subscription when they create a posting, NextDraft does not charge a placement commission on hires from that posting.
You do not have to pay a placement fee if your club has a Club Pro subscription to NextDraft. If this is of interest, view pricing and enquire.
| Player representation | Commission (from player salary) |
|---|---|
| Accepted agent representation (shared with Next Draft) | 3% of first-season contract value |
| Next Draft acting as the player's agent (FIFA agent licence 9695259225) | 10% of first-season contract value |
- 3% of the player’s first-season contract value when the player has an accepted agent (paid by the club from the player’s salary).
- 10% of the player’s first-season contract value when NextDraft acts as the player’s agent (paid by the club from the player’s salary; FIFA agent licence 9695259225).
- Amateur or unpaid deals can be recorded as $0 — then the commission is $0.
- Fees a club agrees with a mandate operator stay between those parties and are separate from this commission.
How clubs pay (when due)
After a hire is recorded without a Club Pro waiver, Next Draft issues a placement confirmation with the amount due and bank transfer instructions (AUD domestic or international SWIFT). Manage upcoming and due invoices on Payments & subscriptions.
- AUD domestic bank transfer: BSB + account (details on each placement confirmation).
- International bank transfer: SWIFT/BIC CTBAAU2S + BSB/account (Australia has no IBAN — combine as one number on the confirmation).
- Always include the placement reference so finance can match the payment.
Players
Commissions are generally paid by the club and are typically taken from the player’s salary package, the same way agent fees work in football. In some situations the club cannot pay NextDraft from the player’s salary — in those cases NextDraft invoices the player, who pays the commission directly. Ask the hiring club whether any NextDraft fees affect the offer they make you.
